Thermodynamic properties and cycle performance of a new alternative refrigerant, HFE-245mc.

Author(s) : TSUGE T., SATO H., WATANABE K.

Summary

Since HFE-245mc has both lower ozone depletion potential (ODP) and smaller global warming potential (GWP), it is expected being a possible candidate to replace R114, especially for its high temperature heat-pump applications. The authors report a complete set of vapour pressures and pvt properties of HFE-245mc measured by a constant volume method. A virial-expansion type equation of state to represent the present formulations, its applicability to the vapour-compression heat-pump systems has been discussed by evaluating the cycle performance in the present paper.
