THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF LITHIUM BROMIDE AND/OR ZINC BROMIDE BINARY AND TERNARY SOLUTIONS IN METHANOL.

Summary

LITHIUM BROMIDE AND/OR ZINC BROMIDE-METHANOL MIXTURES CAN BE USED FOR SOLAR COOLING OR HEAT PUMPS USING THE ABSORPTION PROCESS. THE PAPER DESCRIBES A METHOD WITH WHICH, FROM EQUILIBRIUM DATA (VAPOUR PRESSURE, SOLUBILITY) AND CALORIMETRIC DATA (HEAT OF MIXING, SPECIFIC HEAT), A BASIC EQUATION IS OBTAINED. FOR THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES, APPROACHED EQUATIONS ARE DERIVED AFTER DEBYE-HUCKEL'S THEORY FOR DILUTED SALT SOLUTIONS AND A METHOD FOR CONCENTRATED SOLUTIONS AFTER HAASE. SPECIAL ATTENTION WAS GIVEN TO TERNARY LITHIUM BROMIDE AND ZINC BROMIDE SOLUTIONS IN METHANOL.
