Summary

Thermophysical properties of the refrigerant mixture HFO-1234yf + HFC-32, including VLE (vapour-liquid equilibrium) and dynamic viscosity, were experimentally studied with the HFC-32/HFO mass fraction as a parameter. The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data on the thermodynamic and transport properties of this refrigerant mixture in order to evaluate the feasibility of using the mixture in a residential air conditioner. The VLE property was measured for the HFC-32/HFO mass fractions of 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 at saturation temperatures ranging from about 273 K to 333 K. Dynamic viscosity of the mixture at the atmospheric pressure was measured for the same mass fractions at temperatures ranging from about 278 to 338 K. The measured properties are evaluated using the measured corresponding properties of the pure refrigerants.
