Summary

TRANSPORT PROPERTIES OF SINGLE-PHASE METAL-OXIDE BISMUTH CERAMICS WITH CRITICAL TEMPERATURE = 110 K AND CRITICAL CURRENT DENSITY = 20-340 A/CM2 WERE STUDIED. IT WAS FOUND THAT CAVITIES SURROUNDED BY LOW POROSITY REGIONS ARE GENERATED IN THE SAMPLES DURING THEIR SYNTHESIS AND ANN THESE FORMATIONS PRODUCE A STEP IN THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF DIAMAGNETIC RESPONSE, THE STEP POSITION BEING STRONGLY DEPENDENT ON THE LOW MAGNETIC FIELD. THE CRITICAL CURRENT DENSITY IS SHOWN TO BE DETERMINED MAINLY BY THE COUPLING FORCE OF INTERGRANULAR CONTACTS INSIDE THE CAVITIES. TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF CRITICAL CURRENT FOR SAMPLES PREPARED UNDER DIFFERENT HEAT TREATMENT CONDITIONS IS CONSIDERED.
