The authors report on the US Navy's program to phase out ozone-depleting substances, which has five parts: 1) phasing out non-essential and non-military uses of ODSs as soon as possible; 2) developing an inventory management system; 3) implementing conservation and recycling; 4) conducting research and development; 5) conducting a survey of ODS use.
