USE OF EXHAUST GASES FOR THE GENERATION OF COLD IN TRANSPORT STORAGE ROOMS.

Author(s) : HENATSCH A., METZ S.

Summary

THE EXHAUST GASES OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES COULD BE USED FOR REFRIGERATION IN TRANSIT ROOMS, BASED ON A REFRIGERATING CYCLE, COMBINED WITH A RANKINE CYCLE. THE AUTHORS SHOW THAT GREATER REFRIGERATING CAPACITIES COULD BE OBTAINED WITH DIESEL ENGINES ON-BOARD VESSELS BY MEANS OF A PLANT BUILT ACCORDING TO THE DESCRIBED COMBINED CYCLE. IT COULD BE INTERESTING TO OPTIMIZE THE OUTPUT OF THE ENGINE TO BE INSTALLED ON BOARD THE VESSEL, CONSIDERING THE POSSIBLE REFRIGERATION PRODUCTION BY EXHAUST GASES IN ORDER TO SAVE ENERGY.
