Summary

The objective of this research was to examine an alternative to CFC and HFC refrigerants which causes less damage to the environment. For this reason, CO2 has been tested in bus air conditioning and transport refrigeration. A comparison between the simulation data and the results measured in the laboratory showed a high degree of accordance. A reduction of 20 to 30% in the emission of greenhouse gases can be achieved by the use of carbon dioxide as refrigerant in bus air conditioning and transport refrigeration units.
