Summary
In order to control the electricity growing demand, the ultra-efficient air conditioner with smart evaporative cooling ventilation and photovoltaic was proposed in the previous study. Besides, a simplified version called the hybrid air conditioner was also manufactured, which is an air conditioner featuring smart evaporative cooling ventilation. The applicability of the proposed two systems was analyzed in seven (sub) tropical climate zone. The total energy consumption of ultra-efficient air conditioners was reduced by 36.8~80.3%, and the energy consumption of hybrid air conditioners dropped by 1.0~36.9 %. The results indicate that the ultra-efficient air conditioner is fully applicable in (sub) tropical climates, especially in tropical rainforest, monsoon, and subtropical monsoon climates. And the hybrid air conditioners using fresh air energy saving potential could be applied in countries in tropical savanna, hot semi-arid and hot desert climates combined the economic and social development.
