Assessing the cultural and commercial value of pome fruit is up to the Professional Commission for Variety Assessment. This commission includes representatives of all stakeholders of the arboricultural economy: producers, marketing organizations, storage specialists, retailers, consumers, Swiss Fruit Union and Swisscofel, Swiss Federal Office for Agriculture, Swiss Federal Research Stations in Changins and Wädenswill and Swiss Research Institute for Biological Agriculture.
