VARIOUS POSSIBILITIES OF APPLYING THE ZEOLITE 13 X-WATER COUPLE TO SOLAR COOLING AS A FUNCTION OF THE TYPE OF SOLAR ENERGY COLLECTOR.

LES DIFFERENTES POSSIBILITES D'APPLICATION DU COUPLE ZEOLITE 13 X-EAU POUR LE FROID SOLAIRE EN FONCTION DU TYPE DE CAPTATION DE L'ENERGIE SOLAIRE.

Author(s) : GRENIER P.

Summary

THE PAPER DISCUSSES THE (DAY-NIGHT) CYCLE AND SHOWS THAT ITS COUPLING TO A SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM EMPLOYING AN EVACUATED CYLINDRICAL PARABOLIC COLLECTOR (CONCENTRATION FACTOR OF 4) CAN ACHIEVE AN OVERALL COP OF 0.3, THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE BEING 428 K (155 DEG C). THIS COP IS ROUGHLY TWICE THAT WHICH CAN BE OBTAINED BY A SELECTIVE FLAT PLATE COLLECTOR. A PSEUDO-CONTINUOUS CYCLE IS EXAMINED ALONG WITH THE PROBLEMS OF IRREVERSIBILITIES WHICH ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR A LOSS OF 40% OR MORE OF THE ANTICIPATED THEORETICAL COP. TWO IMPROVEMENTS ARE PROPOSED. A COP OF 0.5 CAN BE OBTAINED FOR A HEAT SOURCE TEMPERATURE OF 384 K (110 DEG C), COMPATIBLE WITH FLAT PLATE COLLECTORS.
