Summary

A literature survey to identify the available viscosity data for the mixtures containing HFC refrigerant is conducted. The most accurate data on which to base the viscosity model development are evaluated. Various viscosity models are considered, the results are compared with the most reliable experimental data, and a comprehensive mixture model is created. For gas phase the viscosity model is based on the residual concept and the modified corresponding states method. The viscosity was composed by two contributions: a dilute gas term, which is a function only of temperature and a residual term, which is a function only of density. The viscosity of liquid is modelled with the modified rough hard-sphere method. The resulting correlations are given in a form convenient to the practicing engineer.
