Summary

This is a description of a trip to Siberian Yakut in April 1997: 10 pupils at Valromey College, Artermare in the Ain region of France took part in this trip organized on a cultural-exchange basis. The narrative includes descriptions of the region, many photos, particularly of permafrost (permanently frozen) ground. Living with eternal ice is described. This book also contains a photo of Dima, the 39 000-year-old baby mammoth.
