Summary

The results in 25 patients were analysed: 8 with giant cell tumour, 2 with fibrous dysplasia, 1 with benign osteoblastoma, 6 with central osteosarcoma, 5 with chondrosarcoma, 1 with parosteal osteosarcoma, 1 with malignant fibrous histicytoma and 1 with metastatic carcinoma. In 21 patients receiving the frozen bone allografts, the bones were trimmed and fixed in the place for the graft using an intramedullary rod, screw, or plate after resection. In the rest of four patients, freeze-dried allografts were set up by the same method. In the group of agressive tumours, all 11 patients had successful transplants at the time of follow up. Only 7 out of the 14 patients with malignant tumours, had successful transplants.
