DISCUSSES THE FEASIBILITY OF USING AQUIFERS TO STORE CHILLED WATER. STATES THE METHOD CONSISTS BASICALLY IN PUMPING WATER FROM THE AQUIFER, CHILLING IT IN A COOLING TOWER AND INJECTING IT IN A SECOND WELL. IN SUMMER THE COLD WATER CAN BE WITH-DRAWN AND USED FOR AIR CONDITIONING. NOTES THE HISTORY OF AQUIFER COOLING IN CHINA, WHERE COTTON MILLS AND AN AIRPORT ARE AIR CONDITIONED BY THIS METHOD.
