ShareThailand ratifies the Kigali Amendment
Thailand becomes the 158th country to ratify the Kigali Amendment.
On April 3, 2024, Thailand ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, pledging to reduce the production and consumption of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants by 80% by 2045. Ratification of the Kigali Amendment is part of the Global Cooling Pledge commitments defined at COP28.
Thailand is not yet one of the seventy countries that have signed the Global Cooling Pledge, thereby contributing to the collective effort to reduce global emissions from cooling by 68% by 2050.
