These proceedings contain, in 5 volumes, 163 papers from this conference, held in Davis, USA, July 13-18, 1997. Contents: Volume 1. CA technology and disinfestation studies; Volume 2. Apples and pears; Volume 3. Fruits other than apples and pears: controlled atmosphere storage of temperate, subtropical and tropical fruits; Volume 4. Vegetables and ornamentals; Volume 5. Fresh-cut fruits and vegetables and MAP: minimal processing and modified atmosphere storage of fruits and vegetables. Some of the papers will be abstracted in a future issue of the IIR Bulletin.
