Summary

PRESENTLY REPRESENTED BY THE COLD STORES NATIONAL CORPORATION, PRAGUE, THE FOOD FREEZING AND FISH PROCESSING INDUSTRIES WERE FOUNDED 40 YEARS AGO BY COMBINING SEVERAL SMALL COLD STORES WITH FISH PROCESSING PLANTS AND THIS MOVE OPENED THE WAY TO EXPANSION. WHILE THE FISH PROCESSING INDUSTRY HAS A TRADITION OF MORE THAN A CENTURY, THE COLD STORAGE AND FOOD FREEZING BRANCHES WENT THROUGH A PERTURBED DEVELOPMENT AS A RELATIVELY NEW SECTION OF THE FOOD INDUSTRY. A SURVEY IS MADE OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THESE TWO BRANCHES, THEIR PRESENT CAPACITIES, TYPES OF PRODUCTS HANDLED AND THEIR SCIENTIFIC-TECHNICAL PROGRESS.
