A comparative study of in-tube boiling on plain and high flux coated surfaces.

Author(s) : WADEKAR V. V.

Summary

Preliminary analysis of experimental results obtained for flow boiling of R113 in an internally coated tube with a high flux porous coating are reported. A test-section is constructed from three sections: a central plain section and a coated section on the either side. The results show that there is nearly an order of magnitude enhancement in boiling heat transfer coefficient due to porous coating on the tube wall. Explanations are suggested.
