Summary
The paper reports that a hybrid energy source system, using an electrically driven screw heat-pump chiller-heater and a gas-fired absorption chiller-heater with thermally stratified chilled/hot water storage, adopted for a middle scale office building, is effective in demand shifting and cost savings. The operating data for this hybrid system with the thermal storage tank was collected for three years.
