A NEW INTERACTIVE METHOD OF FINITE DIFFERENCES FOR THE CALCULATION OF FREEZING PROCESSES.

Summary

THE AUTHORS SHOW THAT THE FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD FOR THE CALCULATION OF HEAT CONDUCTION WITH CHANGE OF PHASE MAY BE APPLIED GENERALLY. THEY CONSIDER AN ANISOTROPIC TWO-DIMENSION HETEROGENEOUS SUBSTANCE WITH IRREGULAR SHAPE, THE LOCAL CHARACTERISTICS OF WHICH DEPEND ON TIME AND TEMPERATURE AND THE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS OF WHICH CAN BE SELECTED. INPUT PROBLEMS, USUALLY RAISED BY THE FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD ARE PREVENTED BY THE USE OF A SIMPLE PICTURE STRUCTURE.
