A numerical simulation for an air-to-air heat recovery system.

Summary

A simulation program of an air-to-air, two-phase thermosyphon loop heat exchanger, utilizing water as its working fluid and finned tube coils as its evaporator and condenser is described. An experimental test rig was designed and constructed. Tests were run for different source-sink temperature difference, source and sink air velocities, and charge quantity of the working fluid. A comparison between the simulated and experimental results is presented and showed good agreement.
