Summary

THE STUDY IS AIMED AT INCREASING THE EFFICIENCY (COP) OF THE AMMONIA-WATER ABSORPTION SOLAR REFRIGERATION SYSTEM AND IT EXPLORES THE POSSIBILITY OF CIRCULATING THE WORKING MEDIUM BY MEANS OF SOLAR ENERGY INSTEAD OF POWER-DRIVEN PUMP. IN THIS PUMPLESS SYSTEM, CIRCULATION OF THE MEDIUM IS ACHIEVED MAINLY BY DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE. TWO ABSORBERS ARE INCORPORATED AND LOCATED AT THE HIGHEST ELEVATION OF THE SYSTEM. THE PAPER DESCRIBES THE MECHANISM OF THE PUMPLESS SYSTEM AND THE ENERGY DEMAND FOR THE CIRCULATION OF THE WORKING MEDIUM. A SERIES OF TESTS HAS SHOWN A SYSTEM EFFICIENCY OF BETWEEN 0.12-0.18.
