SIMULATION OF A SOLAR DRIVEN AQUA-AMMONIA ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION SYSTEM. 1. MATHEMATICAL DESCRIPTION AND SYSTEM OPTIMIZATION.

Author(s) : ALVARES S. G., TREPP C.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

A THEORETICAL THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS WAS PERFORMED ON AN AMMONIA-WATER CYCLE COUPLED TO A SOLAR SYSTEM USING CPC COLLECTORS AND AUGMENTED WITH AUXILIARY ENERGY. 13 CYCLES WERE CONSIDERED IN THE SEARCH FOR THE MAXIMUM COP. ALSO INVESTIGATED WAS THE EXERGETIC PERFORMANCE OF THE CYCLE. THE ADOPTED TEMPERATURE AND MASS FLOW RATE CONTROL STRATEGY ON THE STORAGE TANK-AUXILIARY HEATER-AMMONIA-WATER REFRIGERATION GENERATOR LOOP ENSURED OPERATION OF THE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM AT DESIGN CONDITIONS.
