Summary
The paper presents the results of an experimental research conducted using a climaxed stand on the griddle self-protection to frost of cooling towers. The parameters have been followed in order to examine the influence of the forming of ice curtains on the air access section of the tower and an analytical relation for calculating the aerodynamic resistance of the self-protection system is proposed.
