THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ABSORBER CAN BE IMPROVED BY USING A HE AT TRANSFER TUBE. A TEST PLANT WAS ERECTED IN ORDER TO EVALUATE TUBE PERFORMANCE. MEASUREMENTS WERE MADE ON THE EFFICIENCY OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF TUBES AND THE EFFECT OF ADDING A SURFACE ACTIVE AGENT IN THE ABSORBING FLUID. THE AUTHORS DETERMINED THE HEAT AND THE MASS TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS. A HIGH PERFORMANCE HEAT TRANSFER TUBE HAS BEEN DEVELOPED.
