Absorption of vapour into liquid film on horizontal tubes.

Summary
Most absorbers used in commercial absorption devices contain a bundle of horizontal tubes on the outer-surfaces on which absorption takes place. An experimental absorption heat device that enables continuous operation with an aqueous lithium bromide solution was built and tested. The evaporator was placed in the same vessel. The absorber consists of smooth steel horizontal tubes that are cooled with water. Results of tests are given.
