ADVANCES IN SHELL AND TUBE CONDENSER TECHNOLOGY.

EVOLUTION DES CONDENSEURS MULTITUBULAIRES.

Author(s) : LEGIN L.

Type of article: Article

Summary

IMPROVEMENTS IN THE PERFORMANCES OF SHELL AND TUBE CONDENSERS WERE ACHIEVED THANKS TO THE REDUCTION OF THE TUBE THICKNESS, TO THE INCREASE IN THE EXTERNAL EXCHANGE (TUBES WITH KNURLED FINS ENHANCING THE SURFACE) AND IN THE INTERNAL EXCHANGE (CORRUGATED TUBES AND TUBES WITH EXTRUDED OR KNUR-LED PROFILES MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN THE TURBULENT STATE). THE ADVANTAGES AND LIMITS OF THESE NEW TECHNIQUES ARE IDENTIFIED. J.L.
