Author(s) : AZZOUZ A.

Type of article: Article

Summary

AN ACCOUNT OF EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH INTO THE EFFICIENCY OF DEVICES DESIGNED FOR LIMITING ENERGY LOSSES DUE TO DOOR OPENINGS IN LARGE COLD ROOMS AT LOW TEMPERATURE: 248 K (-25 DEG C). THE EXPERIMENTAL DEVICE IS DESCRIBED AND THE RESULTS ARE ILLUSTRATED BY DIAGRAMS OF THE VELOCITY DISTRIBUTION AND OF THE QUANTITY OF WARM AIR AND COLD AIR EXCHANGED. THESE RESULTS ARE ALSO ILLUSTRATED BY THE CALCULATION OF THE ENERGY LOSS, BY COMPARING THE EFFICIENCY OF AN AIR CURTAIN WITH THAT OF A FLEXIBLE DOOR MADE OF VERTICAL STRIPS. J.R.
