Summary
A relationship exists between the source of airborne microorganisms and the mechanism of their distribution in the working area and the importance of air system control and the risk of product safety. Effectiveness of air control on the main sources of contamination is dependent on the transmission method and may vary from very low to high. Air-filter types based on the Eurovent 4/5 grading system and possible application in different plant areas, are presented.
