Ammonia use in air conditioning: appliances and their features.

Summary
In the current context, the use of ammonia requires low charges; hence the development of self-contained compact units. The different options for the compressor, the evaporator, the oil and discharge cooling are examined. Means for increasing safety are also studied. Examples of actual refrigerating plants in Europe using self-contained refrigerating units are described.
