Summary

EXPERIMENTAL DATA ARE REPORTED FOR EVALUATING THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT DURING CONDENSATION OF PURE VAPOURS, VIZ R12 AND R22, INSIDE A HORIZONTAL TUBE. AVERAGE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS FOR DIFFERENT FLOW RATES AND TEMPERATURE DIFFERENTIALS WERE EXPERIMENTALLY DETERMINED. OVER 235 DATA HAVE BEEN USED TO EVALUATE RECOMMENDED PROCEDURES FOR CALCULATION OF THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT. NEW CORRELATIONS OF THE AKERS AND ROSSON TYPE ARE SUGGESTED THAT GIVE INPROVED AGREEMENT WITH THE DATA.
