Summary
Attention is paid to the substitution of R502 in vapour compression plants used for -40/-50 deg C evaporating temperature. At the present time R125, the mixtures ISCEON 69S and 69L, HP80, HP81 and FX10, FX20 have been put forward as temporary solutions, whereas the mixtures HP62 and FX40 are the fluids which have been suggested for use for new plants in the more distant future. To obtain comparative evaluation of the energetic performances between R502 and these alternative working fluids an experimental plant was set up.
