APPARENT THERMAL DIFFUSIVITY OF ACTIVE CHARCOALS IN PRESENCE OF ALCOHOL VAPOURS.

DIFFUSIVITE THERMIQUE APPARENTE DE COUPLES CHARBON ACTIF-ALCOOL.

Author(s) : ONYEBUEKE L., FEIDT M.

Summary

A GOOD CHARACTERIZATION OF HEAT TRANSFER WITHIN ACTIVE CHARCOA LS IN PRESENCE OF ALCOHOL VAPOURS REQUIRES A PRECISE KNOWLEDGE OF APPARENT THERMAL DIFFUSIVITY AND THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY. HERE ARE REPORTED EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS OBTAINED BY TRANSIENT METHODS THAT GIVE THE VALUES OF THERMAL DIFFUSIVITY. TWO METHODS ARE USED: THE FLASH AND THE HOT WIREMETHOD. THE INFLUENCE OF PELLET DISPOSITION AND OF CHARCOAL TEXTURE ON DIFFUSIVITY ARE ANALYZED. PRACTICAL CONCLUSIONS ARE DRAWN CONCERNING THE MODELLING OF THERMAL MACHINES USING THESE PAIRS.
