Application of air-cycle systems for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps.

Author(s) : LA ROCCA V., MORALE M.

Summary

Air is the most important working fluid in gas compression cycles for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems. Different air cycles are described and compared on the basis of theoretical investigations. Improvements in energy efficiency are discussed and COPs are compared for different systems. An experimental air-cycle system, developed by the authors, is also considered.
