Summary

IN THE PAPER, A CONVENTIONAL VAPOUR COMPRESSION TYPE REFRIGERATION SYSTEMIS ADOPTED AND A NON-AZEOTROPIC MIXTURE IS TAKEN AS A REFRIGERANT. THE GENERAL GOVERNING EQUATIONS ARE GIVEN BY THE ENERGY BALANCE AND THE HEAT TRANSFER EQUATION. THE IRREVERSIBLE LOSSES ARE DERIVED FOR THE REFRIGERATION PROCESSES. THE THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF THE MIXTURES ARE CALCULATED. THE MODEL COMPUTATION WITH R12-R114 REFRIGERANT ENABLES TO EASILY FIND THE OPTIMUM COMPOSITION OF THE REFRIGERANTS AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE IRREVERSIBILITIES FOR GIVEN DESIGN CONDITIONS.
