Summary

200 g samples of various salads were inoculated experimentally with L. monocytogenes and then stored for 15 days at 4 °C in an atmosphere of 70% nitrogen and 30% carbon dioxide. Numbers of the bacteria decreased considerably after 4-9 days of storage. Such salads posed no risk of potential human infection.
