CFC shortages, conversions raise questions during teleconference.
Type of article: Article
Summary
A refrigeration equipment manufacturer in the USA organised a telephone conference to answer questions on the management problems of CFC phase-out. The GSA (General Services Administration), USA government building agency is well ahead using criteria to decide on conversion or replacement of machinery. But many building owners having large chiller systems still face an uncertain future. Refrigerant suppliers stressed that there could be a shortfall in the USA alone of over one million kg of CFC11 and 20 million kg of CFC12 beyond 1996. D.W.H.
