Characteristics of ammonia turbocompressors and possibilities for application in refrigerating systems.

Summary
In this paper, the main geometrical parameters and operating characteristics of ammonia turbocompressors are analysed. The interdependence between the centrifugal compressor stage pressure ratio, peripheral speed, Mach number, compressor capacity, impeller diameter and width, speed of rotation and ammonia thermodynamic properties are shown and discussed for various refrigerating system operating conditions.
