Summary

THE AUTHORS STUDIED THE COMMERCIAL YIELD OF CHERRIES AFTER STORAGE, WEIGHT LOSS INCLUDING THAT DUE TO MICROBIAL DETERIORATION, THE VARIATION IN SUGAR AND TITRATED ACID CONTENTS IN FRUIT ACCORDING TO VARIETY AND THE STORAGE PROCESS IN CONVENTIONALATMOSPHERE (CONTROL) AND MODIFIED GAS ATMOSPHERE CREATED IN HERMETIC POLYETHYLENE PACKAGINGS AND IN CONTAINERS WITH GASEOUS CONTROL AT AN OPTIMUM COMPOSITION. IT WAS ESTABLISHED THAT FRESH CHERRIES CAN BE STORED IN CONTROLLED AND MODIFIED GAS ATMOSPHERES AT 272 K (-1 DEG C) DURING 2 TO 3 MONTHS.
