Circumferential profile of local heat transfer coefficient during condensation on enhanced tubes.

Summary

Experimental data previously obtained by the authors, relative to condensation of R113 on integral-fin tubes, were investigated by a finite difference analysis of the conduction in the tube wall to determine the circumferential profile of the local heat transfer coefficient. The results were compared against the available theoretical models and also with the visual observation of the condensate flow patterns. This analysis can be used to determine the contribution of each portion of the tube wall to overall heat transfer and to evaluate the heat transfer enchancement with vapour velocity.
