Summary

IN THE PRODUCTION OF PLASTIC FILMS, THE PROCESS OF COATING, LAMINATING OR PRINTING PRODUCES ORGANIC SOLVENTS, HENCE IT IS NECESSARY TO HAVE A CLEAN ROOM WITH STRICT TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY CONTROL. IT IS NECESSARY TO PREVENT OUTSIDE POLLUTED AIR FROM ENTERING THE ROOM AND TO ELIMINATE ORGANIC SOLVENTS BY MEANS OF A VENTILATOR WHICH MUST BE PROVIDED WITH LARGE AMOUNTS OF OUTSIDE AIR. SUCH A SYSTEM ENTAILS HIGH COSTS AS REGARDS EQUIPMENT AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION, BUT THE SYSTEM DESIGNED BY THE AUTHOR MINIMIZES FRESH AIR SUPPLIES AND REDUCES ENERGY COSTS BY ABOUT 1/4 TO 1/5 ; THE AIR FILTER LASTS ABOUT 9 TIMES LONGER THAN THE CONVENTIONAL TYPE. OTHER DESIGN CRITERIA FOR CLEAN ROOMS ARE DESCRIBED IN THIS PAPER.
