Summary
For different types of industrial manufacture (including electronics) control of the air pollution level is more and more important. The three causes of air pollution are discussed: gas, inert particles and living elements (bacteria, virus, microscopic fungi and vegetable spores) taking account of their indoor or outdoor origins, and their dimensions. Based on these data, the different technical means available to provide a purity level suitable for each case are highlighted. As an example, the ABL building of IBM in Corbeil-Essonnes (France) manufacturing electronic chips is presented. Y.G.
