EFFICACITE CLINIQUE DES PLAQUETTES CONGELEES EN PRESENCE DE GLYCEROL.

Type of article: Article

Summary

PLATELETS PREVIOUSLY STORED IN THE FROZEN STATE IN PRESENCE OF GLYCEROL WERE TRANSFUSED. WHEN THE TRANSFUSIONS WERE FOR CURATIVE PURPOSES, IN MOST CASES, BLEEDING WAS STOPPED. IN ONE THIRD OF CASES, THE EFFECT WAS PARTIAL AND HAD TO BE SUPPLEMENTED BY A SECOND TRANSFUSION. THEREFORE IT APPEARS THAT PLATELETS FROZEN IN PRESENCE OF GLYCEROL HAVE A HAEMOSTATIC EFFECT IN VIVO, IN SPITE OF THEIR SMALL RECIRCULATION AFTER TRANSFUSION.
