Author(s) : HERVE P.

Type of article: Article

Summary

PLATELETS WERE FROZEN BY USING GLYCEROL (3% IN PLASMA) AS CRYOPROTECTANT, A HIGH FREEZING RATE AND LIQUID NITROGEN FOR STORAGE. THE CRYOPRESERVED PLATELETS WERE THAWED AT 315K (42 DEGC) AND PERFUSED UNDER WASHING. THE QUALITY OF THAWED PLATELETS IS EQUIVALENT TO THAT OF PLATELETS STORED 24 TO 48 HRS AT THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE. -(Bull. CNRS, FR., 81-359-4176.
