Summary

The increase of CO2 in the atmosphere is real and measurable everywhere on the planet (+ 15 from 1950 to today and at least 10% more over the next 20 years). This study is a compilation and analysis of what is currently known, particularly on CO2 and its consequences on photosynthesis in forest ecosystems. It has two parts: 1. Global dynamics of CO2 in the biosphere (a very detailed and accurate synthesis on the subject). 2. Specific effects of the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere on trees and forests (biological responses of trees and forest ecosystems to a CO2-enriched world).
