Summary

These "highlights", drawn from the full-scale study, were specially designed for delegations and observers at the twelfth Conference of the Parties to the Climate Change Convention (COP-12) and the second meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol in Nairobi Kenya, held in November 2006. The data are designed to assist in understanding the evolution of the emissions of CO2 from 1971 to 2004 for more than 140 countries and regions by sector and by fuel. Extract from the table of contents: the energy - climate challenge; IEA emissions estimates; indicators; geographical coverage; summary tables (the titles of these tables are given both in English and in French); global world total.
