Summary
Refrigerating processes which are operating with heat in the temperature range between 180 and 50 deg C, are becoming more and more important. They are especially suited for the inclusion into a total energy compound energy-heat-cold. This contributes to a more sparing use of primary energy and a reduction of CO2 emissions. It is underlined by examples that the generation of cold from heat may be an interesting service of energy supply enterprises.
