COLD PRODUCTION AT LOW TEMPERATURE (-20 TO -40 DEG C) BY SOLID-GAS CHEMICAL HEAT PUMPS: PROBLEMATICS OF TRANSFERS IN REACTIVE POROUS MEDIA.

PRODUCTION DE FROID A BASSE TEMPERATURE (-20 A -40 DEG C) PAR POMPES A CHALEUR CHIMIQUES SOLIDE-GAZ : PROBLEMATIQUE DES TRANSFERTS DANS LES MILIEUX POREUX REACTIFS.

Summary

CHEMICAL HEAT PUMPS ARE BASED ON THE COUPLING OF, ON ONE HAND, CONDENSATION/EVAPORATION OF A GAS, AND ON THE OTHER HAND, A REVERSIBLE REACTION. THESE APPARATUS CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF HEAT PUMPS, PARTICULARLY FOR COLD PRODUCTION IN A LOW RANGE. HOWEVER, POROUS SOLIDS ARE POOR CONDUCTORS OF HEAT AND MASS THIS PROBLEM WAS SOLVED BY MIXING AN INERT BINDER (EXPANDED GRAPHITE) WITH THE REACTIVE MEDIUM. MEASUREMENTS OF THE EFFECTIVE CONDUCTIVITIES SHOW THE ACHIEVED IMPROVEMENTS OF TRANSFERS.
