COP FOR COLD PRODUCTION BY ONE-STAGE CHEMICAL HEAT PUMPS: 0.8 TO 1.6 DEPENDING ON THE MANAGEMENT OF THE HEAT OF REACTION.

COEFFICIENT DE PERFORMANCE DE MACHINES A FROID MONOETAGEES : 0,8 A 1,6 SELON LE PROCEDE DE GESTION DES CHALEURS DE REACTION.

Summary

CHEMICAL HEAT PUMPS (CHP) BASED ON THE REVERSIBLE SOLID-GAS REACTIONS CAN PRODUCE COLD BELOW AND OVER 0 DEG C. THESE CHPS AREECONOMICALLY VIABLE IN TERMS OF INVESTMENT COSTS. BUT THE OPERATING COSTS OF THE BASIC HEAT PUMPS ARE TOO HIGH. INDEED, THE COP IS TOO LOW (PRACTICAL COP = 0.4 TO 0.8). A RATIONAL MANAGEMENT OF THE HEAT OF REACTION HAS LED TO THE DEFINITION OF A NEW PROCESS WHICH ALLOWS TO DOUBLE THE COP OF COLD PRODUCTION (PRACTICAL COP = 0.8 TO 1.6) USING THE SAME MACHINE AS THE BASIC SYSTEM.
