Author(s) : IPENZ

Type of monograph: Other

Summary

Aware of several serious fires in cold stores, IPENZ decided to convene a working party to study many aspects of cold store engineering. Its aim was to write design guidelines in the form of a practice note, thus satisfying the Warrington recommendation on fire engineering, but with a scope wide enough to cover economics, insurance, structure, insulation, refrigeration, electrical, operations and maintenance of a cold store. Extract from the table of contents: brief history of cold store development in New Zealand; design considerations; appropriate structures; insulation technique; fire engineering; refrigeration; electrical services; commissioning; operations; legislation, regulations and standards.
